Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German television and film actress famous for her performance in film productions such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. She was the sole daughter of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu Alexandra stepped into the show business at an early age and was acting in lead roles on various TV dramas before she was just 16. The critically acclaimed character she played in the television film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went further to take on other memorable role like Adolf's secretary, Traudljunge, in Downfall. Downfall received nominations for an Oscar and received critical acclaim. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are two other Oscar nominated films that feature the divas. Through the years, Alexandra has appeared in many notable international and national projects. For instance, the British biographical feature Control, the Greek drama The Dust of Time, and French historical miniseries Napoleon are among them. In addition, she was a member of both the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
