Aisling Bea

Aisling is a popular Irish comedian who has been around for quite a while. Her birthplace was in Kildare Ireland, on 16th March 1984. The comedian has appeared seen on QI, with Stephen Fry. Aisling O'Sullivan, better known as the stage name Aisling Bea (born March 16, 1984) is an Irish actor, writer and stand-up comic. Bea was first seen as bit roles in Irish or British TV programs in the year 2009, made her debut as an stand-up comic in 2011. In 2012, she began appearing on a variety of sketch and sitcoms. In 2012, following her won an award at Edinburgh Comedy Awards (ECA) in 2012, she began appearing frequently in panel shows. Between 2016 and 2017 she was a member of 8 Out of 10 Cats' team, in addition to being a performer on the 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown spinoff. Born to Brian O'Sullivan, she has one sister named Sinead. In 2012 she was the second woman ever to receive the So You Think You Are Funny award. Bea, her maiden name, pays tribute to her dad who died in the year 2000. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan, born Kildare town County Kildare on 16 March 1984. Her father Brian was a vet for horses who died by suicide when she was just three years old. But, she was not aware of the cause for her father's death until she was 13 years old. As a way to honor her father, she chose the stage name Bea and in 2017 wrote an article about suicides in her family for The Guardian. Bea (and her younger sister Sinead) were brought up in the same home as Helen Moloney who was a educator and jockey trainer who was also a professional jockey. The family was horse and race meeting obsessed. When she was a child, Bea employed as an instructor at the Irish National Stud however she realized at an early age that she wasn't interested in the racing industry as a job, and was a performer.
